I am over 60 and an early life dental-trauma survivor. As a child dental care only when it was absolutely necessary, I suffered through numerous huge cavities getting filled and a number of accessed teeth and subsequent extractions. That was back in the day when they did not use anesthesia for cavities - so every dental appointment for me was accompanied by pain. My worst experience was when I was 14 and had an adult molar extracted by a young and inexperienced dentist who did not give me sufficient anesthesia. My face got numb after the extraction, but not before. Needless to say, my entire life I have struggled with severe fear of dental procedures - As many people around my age have. **I want to tell you that I feel completely comfortable with Dr Bernier and his Staff, and am no longer afraid to receive dental care. So far he has taken out 2 wisdom teeth and a molar. I can keep the rest of my teeth... He is kind, and patient, and skilled. Very skilled. He explains everything before hand and narrates - like I asked him to do - as he is working in my mouth. He respects the fact that I have been traumatized and works with me to help minimize my anxiety before and during procedures. He never even cracked a smile or mocked in the slightest way when I brought my small stuffed animal to hold and squeeze during the extractions. **I can’t say enough about what a nice guy he is, in general, and how good he is in his chosen profession AND **I do not hesitate to highly recommend Dr. Brent Barroso-Bernier and his staff to anyone in need of dental care - but particularly to those who struggle with dental anxieties.
